Wrap up of the 2016 NSW State Pennant Finals.

Clarence River District Bowling Association’s Yamba Bowling Club was the only Bowls Far North Coast club to contest a Pennant Semi-Final.

Yamba, contesting the State No.3 Grade Pennant, had sectional play wins over Camden Men’s (71-49), Ettalong (56-42) and Merrylands (65-45).

All of Yamba’s matches were played at Maclean Bowling Club.

The three sectional wins placed Yamba at the top of their group and played Malua Bay (Batemans Bay area) in the semi-finals on Sunday.

Malua Bay led the semi-final throughout to win 57-41 over Yamba, who can hold their heads high after a never-say-die match.

Details of the Zone 1 results:

No.1 Grade: at Nelson Bay - Ocean Shores lost 53-59 to Wollongong City,  lost 51-73 to Engadine and won 60-50 over Wagga Rules.

No.2 Grade: at Ettalong - Evans Head lost 62-66 to Dapto Citizens,  55-64 to Grandviews, and lost 45-78 to Merimbula.

No.3 Grade: at Maclean - Yamba beat Camden Men’s (71-49), Ettalong (56-42) and Merrylands (65-45). Semi-Final: Malua Bay 57 beat Yamba 41.

No.4 Grade: at Bombaderry/Berry - Iluka lost 55-71 to Dapto Huntley, won 61-51  over Belrose, and lost 40-69 to Bowral.

No.5 Grade: at Harboured - Lismore Heights lost 49-82 to Port City, 52-68 to Campbelltown City and 44-78 to Pennant Hills.

No.6 Grade: at Leeton Soldiers/Narrandera - South Lismore lost 54-61 to Terrigal, 57-69 to Wentworth Leagues and won 62-56 over Taree West.

No.7 Grade: at Kingscliff/Cabarita Beach - Pottsville lost 47-66 to Warilla, won 62-54 over Wentworth Leagues and lost 56-62 to Turramurra.
